Meowant’s pitch is the same core function for around two hundred, with nine safety sensors and an app that tracks up to six cats.
It mostly delivers. There is one design flaw worth knowing about before you buy, and it involves smell.
The weight limits on the listings
Check your cat’s weight against the listing before you choose. The Grey model and the large White round model are both rated for cats from 3.3 to 22 pounds. The SC09 Plus is rated for cats up to 30 pounds and has an 8.27-inch entry, low enough for seniors and short-legged breeds.
So for a big Maine Coon, the SC09 Plus is the Meowant that actually fits, not the large round box. The SC09 Plus is also sold as odor-controlled, though its listing does not say whether that fixes the flap gap described below.

Are Meowant litter boxes safe?
Nine high-precision sensors monitor weight changes and detect a cat entering the drum, and there is an integrated anti-pinch structure specifically designed to stop a cat being caught between the litter chamber and the rotating drum.
That sensor count is higher than several more expensive competitors offer, and the anti-pinch design addresses the specific failure mode people worry about with rotating-drum boxes.
Standard sensible practice still applies to any automatic box. Supervise for the first week, keep a conventional tray available while your cat adjusts, and do not use an automatic box with a kitten under about six months. Small kittens are harder for sensors to detect reliably and a plain open tray is easier for them anyway. Litter boxes are unregulated equipment, so unlike food there is no AAFCO nutrient profiles equivalent setting a safety standard.
The odor flaw nobody mentions upfront
This is the recurring complaint and it is worth knowing before you spend the money.
The flap covering the waste compartment does not seal completely. Owners consistently report that odor seeps out of that gap into the room, which is a peculiar failure for a product whose main selling point is that waste gets sealed away quickly.
There is a second, related issue with the two-unit design: litter can work its way into the gap between the drum and the base, and a cat who kicks litter or does not turn around inside can leave particles or urine outside the unit.

What the health tracking is actually for
The scooping is why people buy. The tracking is what turns out to matter.
The app logs weight and visit frequency for up to six cats. A cat urinating more often, or losing weight steadily across a few weeks, is showing two of the earliest signs of chronic kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, and diabetes. All three are common in older cats and all three respond far better to early treatment.

My verdict on Meowant
Meowant delivers most of what an expensive automatic litter box does for meaningfully less money. The safety engineering is sound, the app is genuinely useful, and the entry price is the lowest of any credible brand.
The odor leak is the compromise, and it is the reason for the price gap rather than a manufacturing defect. If that matters more to you than the saving, buy elsewhere.
